Kate joined the NexGen Hearing team in 2012 and began working as a Customer Care Representative in the first NexGen clinic. Kate qualified as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner in 2015 and is assisting at NexGen clinics in Oak Bay and Fairfield, Victoria.
Kate has a degree in Kinesiology and a background working in the spinal health field. She loves working with people of all ages and helping them improve their health and quality of life. She is excited to be a part of a great team and truly enjoys seeing clients daily. During her spare time, Kate enjoys running, indoor climbing, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Selene Finlayson has many years of experience in the hearing field and comes from a family of renowned hearing professionals. Her father, Marke Hambley, started his first hearing clinic in Victoria in the early 1970’s and successfully expanded his business known as “Island Hearing Services” throughout Vancouver Island. Over the years, Selene had the opportunity to observe her father assist many people improve their quality of life through better hearing. She is very passionate about hearing health and providing those with hearing loss a pathway to better quality of life.
Selene became certified as an Audiologist’s Assistant through Nova Southeastern University and completed the course from the International Institute for Hearing Instruments and Studies for Professionals in Hearing Health Sciences. She later obtained her license as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner in 2009. Outside of clinic, Selene enjoys boating, hiking, cycling, swimming and spending time with her family.
