Kathleen Jones

Audiologist - Doctor of Audiology / Owner

Kathleen was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and has been a proud owner of Professional Audiology Clinic since 2001. Having a hearing impairment herself, Kathleen brings another level of understanding and compassion to the needs of others who are overcoming their hearing loss.

With special interests in pediatric amplification and adult rehabilitation, Kathleen strives to uphold the highest standard of clinical care and aspires to help empower both adults and children to live a fulfilling life with the hearing they have.

Kathleen also has a daughter with a hearing impairment, giving her unique insight into the experience of parenting children with hearing loss and affording her a rare level of understanding when working with children.

Kathleen earned her Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from Salus University in Pennsylvania and also holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education Psychology from the University of Alberta. She also holds numerous professional certificates and is a member of multiple accredited professional bodies.

Sandra Abed

Doctor of Audiology

Sandra graduated with her Audiology Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in 2016 and began her career in Houston, Texas. She then practiced as an Audiologist in Maui, Hawaii and joined the team at Professional Audiology clinic in 2018.

Sandra has a close experience with hearing loss as her father was diagnosed with hearing impairment during childhood. Understanding and living with hearing loss was an important part of growing up in her household.

Today, Sandra aspires to help patients and families who are in a similar situation as her father. She strives to provide both pediatric and adult patients with the needed support and empowerment to succeed with their personalized intervention plan.

Rhys Kooistra

Registered Audiologist

Rhys enjoys helping individuals achieve their greatest hearing potential and working with them to find a personalized solution for their listening needs.

Rhys received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The King’s University in Edmonton in 2006 and a Master of Clinical Science in Audiology from Western University in London, Ontario, in 2012.

Rhys has also studied music at the University level. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, attending Edmonton Symphony Orchestra concerts, and playing guitar, golf and tennis.

Saruka Santhiran

Registered Audiologist

Saruka initially developed an interest in audiology partly due to a high school friend who was hard of hearing, and partly due to her own love for music. She hopes that she can support people in regaining their ability to hear the sounds that are important to them and their lives.

Saruka  received her BSc Specialization in Psychology from the University of Alberta in 2018, and completed her Masters in Audiology at the University of British Columbia in 2020.

Our clinic is closed for lunch daily between 12pm - 1pm & closed on holidays.

We are located on the main floor of Hy's centre.
