Jo(anne) DeLuzio has the unique combination of being a clinical audiologist with a PhD in Speech-Language Pathology (S-LP). She has been teaching applied audiology in the S-LP Program at U of T since 2000. Her primary area of interest is the importance of social skills development and peer interaction for young children with severe and profound hearing loss.
Jo is an advocate for the removal of barriers for people who are D/deaf and hard of hearing. She has served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Board of The Canadian Hearing Society and is currently on the Interim Board of Hands and Voices.
Marshall Chasin is the director of research and the chief audiologist of the Musicians' Clinics of Canada. As founding member of the Hearing Instrument Review Panel, Marshall Chasin has reviewed many new hearing aids, which allows him to choose from the very best for our clients. He has the utmost experience and knowledge to help musicians with their specific hearing needs.
Marshall is an associate professor in audiology at the University of Western Ontario; an adjunct professor in linguistics at the University of Toronto; and an adjunct research associate at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Marshall is the author of five books on hearing, hearing loss prevention, and hearing aids and is also the author of a weekly blog.
Anthony Vila has been in the hearing services industry for more than 10 years. He has worked in a private-practice clinic for the last 8 years and continues to do so, while simultaneously practicing with the Marshall Chasin & Associates professional team since 2008. Anthony is a graduate of the Hearing Instrument Specialist program at George Brown College and is fluent in English and Spanish, and understands a little Italian and Portuguese.
Shimon Shnaidman has been in the hearing services industry in the Toronto area for more than 17 years. He has worked in the private as well as public sector and has worked at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric care for more than 10 years. Shimon has been an associate with Marshall Chasin since 2007. Shimon is a graduate of the Hearing Instrument Specialist program George Brown College and is fluent in both English and in Hebrew.
