A message from HearingLife - Salmon Arm about COVID-19:
D'Arcy White has over 35 years of extensive experience in the hearing field. She worked for Provincial Health in her home province of Saskatchewan for 7 years providing hearing assessments and fitting hearing aids to adults, infants and children. She later held a position at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina where she provided diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations, as well as the Cleft Lip and Palate clinic for the southern part of the province. In 1992, the lure of better weather brought her to HearingLife (formerly Canadian Hearing Care) in Salmon Arm. D'Arcy continues to offer a variety of hearing services including the latest hearing instrument technology, and coping strategies for improved communication.
D'Arcy periodically lectures at the local college and provides in-services regarding hearing and hearing impairment. She graduated with a masters degree in audiology from Minot State University in North Dakota in 1981.
Colleen was first inspired to work in the hearing healthcare field after working alongside a hearing professional as a clinic assistant. She was moved by the positive impact that good quality hearing care had on the lives of those seeking professional help for their hearing needs. Colleen earned her Hearing Instrument Specialist diploma in Okanagan in 2003 while simultaneously working in clinic. She received her license with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC in 2010. Colleen joined the HearingLife healthcare team after relocating to her hometown of Vancouver in 2015.
Colleen takes pride in being a hearing healthcare advocate and enjoys many aspects of her profession including fitting hearing aids, sharing knowledge and educating the community about hearing loss.
